Applications of Anthracite

1. Because anthracite has low price, high carbon content and dense structure, anthracite is often used in the metallurgical industry as the main raw material for charcoal refractories (charcoal briquettes and base paste) used in the lining of blast furnaces, electric furnaces and aluminium electrolytic cells.

2. Used as a raw material for the manufacture of ammonia.

3. Usually used as civil and power fuel. Good quality anthracite can be used as raw material for gasification, as fuel for blast furnace blowing and sintering iron ore and as foundry fuel.

4. High quality anthracite can be used to make silicon carbide, carbon sand, artificial corundum, artificial graphite, electrodes, calcium carbide and carbon materials.

5. It can be used for burning cement.

6. Using anthracite in casting process, increase the usage amount of scrap steel and reduce the consumption of scrap iron. 

7. High absorptive character, no residue will be left and save production cost.
