Applications of Calcined Petroleum Coke

1. Carbon industry can be used in: carbon for aluminum, graphite electrode, graphite anode, carbon electrode, carbon anode, carbon refractory material, carbon paste products, high purity graphite, graphite products, graphite chemical equipment, etc.

2. The main raw material of carbon enhancer and foaming agent for steel making.

3. Basic chemical raw materials for making sodium hydride and high purity CO in chemical industry.

4. Important raw material for processing mechanical seals in the machinery industry.

5. Calcined petroleum coke and other low sulphur (S＜0.5%) high quality coke are mainly used to manufacture ultra-high power graphite electrodes and produce carbon enhancers. There are also some low sulphur coke (S＜1.5%) that can be used to produce anode paste and pre-baked anodes for aluminium plants.

6. Medium sulphur, common coke, is used in aluminium smelting.

7. High sulphur (S>3%), common coke, used in chemical production, such as the manufacture of calcium carbide, silicon carbide, etc. And also used as fuel for cement plants and power plants.
